The word Church derives from the Greek word for ‘assembly’meaning the church is the people not the place.
One of my closest friends is a Christian and I have had many in depth conversations with him about his faith, his beliefs and religion in general. I personally do not have any faith, so these conversations were insightful and interesting. One of the things that stuck with me was a conversation about the word church and how its about the people not the place.
After coming to university, I became a part of a mainly Christian friendship group and started to hear more about their faith and differing perspectives. I had my preconceived notions of Christianity and religion changed and I learned that there isn’t particularly black and white answer to people’s relationships with God.
In this ongoing series I will explore these people and their relationships with god.
